Patti will be in the office on Tuesdays 9:30-11:30 and at the Barn on Fridays 1-3pm.. 

The Three Churches Foundation is having a Soup Sale here at the St. James Hall on Saturday, April 27, 10am-12pm. This season’s soup is corn chowder! 

The Men's Group will meet at 9:30am on Saturday, April 27, for a presentation by Norbert Sattler, who, together with his wife as Sattler-Stained Glass Studio, completed the major stained-glass restoration at St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg.

The Three Churches Foundation presents: A Noon Half-Hour Concert. From Vancouver, Lord Byng Chamber Choir, Saturday, April 27 at St. James. By Free Will Donation.

The South Shore Hospice Palliative Care Society is holding an End-of-Life Info Expo on Saturday, May 4, 11-4pm, at Bridgewater Baptist Church (564 Glen Allan Dr.). Registration is required to attend the talks that are being offered, along with displays by 28 service and care providers. Anyone wishing Memorial Flowers for Mother’s Day, please contact Margot Lutes (902-530-5878) by May 5th. Cheques are to be made payable to St. James Flower Fund. 

The South Shore Chorale will present its spring concert, Songs of Light and Hope, on Monday, May 6, 7:30pm, at Wesley United Church in Petite Riviere, on Saturday, May 11, 2pm, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bridgewater, and on Sunday, May 12, 2pm, at Central United Church in Lunenburg. Several people from St. James’ sing in the choir and it promises to be a good concert!

ACW BAKELESS, BAKE SALE – Please put the price of a pie or cake, etc. in an envelope, (If you wish your donation to be tax deductible, please put your church envelope number on the outside). Simply pass your donations on to Elizabeth Spinney (902-543-1961} or leave at the Parish Office. Last chance for donations is May 12. ALL CHEQUES SHOULD BE MADE TO ST. JAMES. ACW THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

St. James’ Scholarships are available for students of the parish entering post secondary education. Please call the office at 902-624-8614 for an application. The deadline for applications is 15 May.

The Prayer Beads group meet on the first and fourth Wednesday of the month, at 7pm in the church. Come and discover a new way to pray.

Food Bank Sunday is the 1st Sunday of the month! Please place donations in the basket at the back of the church or items may be dropped off at the office during office hours. Items they can always use more of; Cheez Whiz, Can Milk, Mac & Cheese, Jam – Jelly, Canned Fruit, Flakes of ham, chicken, etc.

Anyone wishing to have an afternoon out, enjoy a cup of tea etc. please feel free to join the knitters between 1-3:30pm on Wednesdays. They will make you most welcome!

We have a Prayer Chain in the parish. If you would like prayers for yourself, or a friend, please call the office.

Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR) is a way of giving your weekly offerings by automatic monthly deductions on your credit card or from your bank account. If you are interested, there is information and forms at the back of the church or see Debbie Smeltzer. Or please see our Links & Resources Page and click on Diocese NS & PEI link. from there go under Resourses and you will find our Pre Authorized Remittance information.

Anyone who would like to donate bottles (all recyclables) for the CBL, are asked to drop them off by the garage doors beside the Parish Hall. For more info, contact Tom Ernst at 902-624-6133

FYIOver the years the following contributions have been given to St James Parish by St. James CBL. Mainly due to money raised through bottle drives and donations. 
 1.  $1500.00 for the first hall addition 
 2. $2500.00 for the second hall addition 
 3. $10,000.00 to steeple fund 
 4. Substantial donation to kitchen 
 5. New flagpole in front of rectory 
 6. One of the defibrillators in the parish 
 7. Several donations to other parish projects 
 8. Supporting youth in our parish 
 9. Supporting other organizations outside the parish (approx. 30) over the past years If anyone donates bottles to CBL, it will help us continue to support future activities.

Sunday Brunch-Mahone Bay Legion, The Last Sunday of the month,  9am-12:30pm. No reservations required. Adults $13; Children 12 & under $7; Ages 5 & under Free.
