Community Roots Day Camp Program
St. James' is hosting the Community Roots Day Camp August 22-26, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. each day. Camp is free and designed for kids ages 6-12 (although a very keen 5 year old would be able to attend if there's room, especially if an older sibling is going). The program is provided by the diocese, but with our own local spin. For our camp, children will have two local field trips, one to the Mahone Bay Museum and the workshop at Amos Pewter (this part still pending) and the other to the Heritage Boat Yard where our own David Houston will help them learn about an important piece of the community's history. There will be Godly Play stories, science experiments, and if it is hot, water games, among other things! If you know of kids who might be interested, please share the attached poster. We have enough volunteers to be able to accept up to 20 children. Registration is done through the diocese (see poster).
Patti will be on vacation August 22-September 5. For August 28th and September 4th there will be no 8 a.m. eucharist. On the 28th, services at 9:30 (Union Church) and 11 (St. James’) will be offered by the Rev’d Linda Macdonald and on the 4th at 9:15 (Christ Church) and 11 (St. James’) by our Licensed Lay Ministers.
